Milford has today announced that Gavin Walker will join the Board as a director.
Gavin has spent the best part of his career in the financial services industry and has held senior leadership and governance roles in both New Zealand and Australia.
He was the founding CEO/MD of Bankers Trust New Zealand and later appointed CEO of Bankers Trust Investment Bank Australia, as well as being a member of Bankers Trust New York’s Global Business Council.
Previous senior governance positions held within the banking, funds management and securities industries include: Chair of ASB Bank 2011- 2021 (retired August 2021); Chair of Commonwealth Securities (CommSec) – Australasia’s largest online retail stock broking business, (retired September 2021 after eleven years of service); Guardian/ Chair of New Zealand Superannuation Fund 2010-2015, and Chair of ASB Bank – Investment Committee, with responsibility for the investment and risk management oversight of the bank’s retail funds management business.
Milford Chairman, Mark Cross, welcomed Gavin to the board of Milford Asset Management Limited, noting that his extensive financial services and investment governance experience will add significant value to Milford as it continues its strong growth in the New Zealand and Australian markets.
